Construction resins

In resin construction, composites solve problems that traditional materials struggle with. They do not rust, need little maintenance, insulate electrically and weigh far less than steel or concrete. AOC supplies resins for the full building and construction market, from roofing sheets and façade panels to bathtubs, worktops and chemical anchors.

Resin construction: where composites add value

Composite building products are chosen when corrosion resistance, low maintenance, design freedom, low weight or rapid installation create value. Typical examples include:

• Profiles, panels and gratings for façades, platforms and walkways.
• Corrugated and flat roofing sheets and flexible roofing systems.
• Bathware, sanitary products, solid surface and artificial stone.
• Chemical anchoring systems for fixing in concrete and masonry.

Polyester building resins

Unsaturated polyester resins are the backbone of many building products. Palatal® P 4 L-21 is a UV-stabilised orthophthalic resin for corrugated sheets, and Synolite™ 8085-X-2 is used in continuous lamination of flat panels. For flexible roofing, Palatal® E 272-03 and Synolite™ 6096-N-1 offer high flexibility.

Iso and NPG resins for construction

Where surfaces must stay attractive for many years, iso and NPG resins are the better choice. Iso/NPG grades such as Synolite™ 1862-N-3 and Synolite™ 1866-A-1 are used for solid surface and artificial stone. Iso/NPG gelcoat bases protect façade elements and sanitary ware against weathering and staining.

Daron® for structural construction

Daron® is AOC's high-performance resin technology for applications requiring elevated mechanical and thermal performance. In construction it is used in pultruded profiles and structural parts, combining epoxy-like performance with the processing efficiency of polyester. Daron® 41 and Daron® 5130 are examples for pultrusion.

Styrene-free anchoring and repair

Chemical anchors and construction putties are often used indoors or in confined spaces. AOC offers styrene-free vinyl esters such as Palatal® K 790 V-03 and Beyone™ 341-A-01, as well as styrene-free polyester resins for these applications.

Next™ building and construction resins

Products with the Next™ label help builders reduce their footprint. Examples are rPET-based Palatal® P 42-04 for panels, profiles and pipes, and the Synolite™ 4320 series for sanitary applications with acrylic back-up.
